Seven federated clubs
Seven clubs
All seven sit in the federation’s Zone 4. Coordinators come from the provincial club registry of August 21, 2026.
| Club | Where | Coordinator | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Promotions de Pétanque L.M. | Joliette | Luc Lépine | The region’s lead club, with a mailing address in Saint-Paul and its events in Joliette. Lépine sits on the boards of both Pétanque Canada and the provincial federation |
| École de Pétanque de Lanaudière | Joliette | Luc Lépine | A dedicated pétanque school, added to the provincial registry in 2026 |
| Club École Les Boulistes | Saint-Cuthbert | Étienne Bertrand | Plays at Parc Vaudreuil in Berthierville. Its 2026 season runs from May 5 to October 31, for players from nine to ninety-nine |
| Club de Pétanque de St-Félix-de-Valois | Saint-Félix-de-Valois | Jean-Yves Provost | Village club |
| Club de Pétanque St-Didace | Saint-Didace | Jean-François Brunelle | Village club with a Friday indoor league at Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon |
| Club de Pétanque Ste-Élisabeth | Sainte-Élisabeth | Margot Adam | Village club |
| Club de Pétanque AS Rive Nord | Terrebonne | Stéphane Montambeault | Joined the provincial federation in May 2026, at the southern end of the region nearest Montreal |
Worth putting in proportion. Only the Rive-Sud-Métropolitaine region, a suburban belt around Montreal, has more federated clubs than Lanaudière.
Four of Lanaudière’s seven are village clubs, in places such as Saint-Didace and Sainte-Élisabeth.
Two clubs outside the registry still play in the region: Les Amis de la Pétanque St-Gabriel-de-Brandon, which left the federation in 2025, and Les Magiciens de la Pétanque des Moulins in Terrebonne.
Two teaching clubs
A region with its own school
The École de Pétanque de Lanaudière
The school joined the provincial registry in 2026. It grew out of the Woodstock Bouliste weekend in Joliette in May 2023, when half the money from a $100 fundraising evening went toward a future school.
Luc Lépine and club administrator Rénald Rivest drove it.
Why it matters
Clubs in small municipalities tend to age out without a way to bring in new players. A school is the structure that prevents that.
Club École Les Boulistes takes the same approach. Saint-Cuthbert has run a pétanque school since May 2023, with a season aimed at players from nine to ninety-nine.
Weight beyond the region
Luc Lépine is regional coordinator, runs two of the seven clubs, and sits on the boards of both Pétanque Canada and the Fédération de Pétanque du Québec.
That puts the region’s voice at both levels of Canadian pétanque.
2025
The Joliette Worlds that never happened
Joliette won the right to host a world championship, announced it, and then lost it. Several published accounts still say it went ahead.
What was awarded
Joliette was named host of the 20th Junior World Championship, set for August 4 to 8, 2025, at Parc Louis-Querbes. Under-18 teams from 34 countries were expected.
Admission was to be free, with an opening parade through downtown Joliette. Promotions de Pétanque LM led the bid, backed by Mayor Pierre-Luc Bellerose.
What happened
The promoter canceled the event. The city’s own announcement now carries an update dated March 24, 2025, recording the cancellation.
The championship moved to Isla Cristina, Spain, and ran from October 23 to 26, 2025, with 29 countries.
Where Canada ended up
Canada still sent a junior delegation to Spain: Charles-Antoine Massé, Juliette Gagné, Raphaëlle Jourdain and Steve Jean, coached by Francine Bélair and Michel Bonneau.
All four came from the Club Bouliste de Baie-Comeau on the Côte-Nord, a single club whose junior section had been running for six years.
A correction. Several published accounts, including an earlier version of this site, list the 2025 Joliette Junior Worlds as an event that took place.
It was awarded and then canceled. The championship was played in Spain.

Indoor
The Cité Généraction 55+ at 702 Montée Masson in Terrebonne is the only Lanaudière hall on the federation’s boulodrome list.
North of Joliette, winter league nights take place at the Centre multifonctionnel in Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon. Our Montreal page covers the metro’s indoor options.
